PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has summoned the Station House Officer (SHO) of Rasalpur Police Station, Nowshera, on October 12 in connection with a case concerning the alleged disappearance of several PTI workers from Rashakai.
The case was pursued by senior PTI lawyer Inam Yousafzai.
According to the petition, several PTI workers were allegedly abducted or went missing from Rashakai on September 23. Those named in the petition include:
Fayyaz Qatir
Hijrat Kamran
Zahid Zaman
Jalal Khan
Abdul Rehman Afridi
Other party workers
The court also directed the law officer to personally contact the District Police Officer (DPO) Nowshera regarding progress in the matter.
The court ordered the SHO Rasalpur to appear at the next hearing and brief the court on the situation concerning the alleged disappearance of the workers.
The case came to light following protests over the alleged disappearance of PTI workers. Several cases involving the alleged disappearance of political workers have reportedly emerged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in recent days, prompting concerns from human rights organizations.
