PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser for Information and Relief, Samar Haroon Bilour, has ordered a comprehensive inspection of government vehicles belonging to the Information Department and its subordinate institutions, while seeking complete records of vehicles that have reportedly been missing or untraceable for the past 13 years.
According to the directives issued to the Information Department, officials have been instructed to submit complete details of all government vehicles currently in use, including registration numbers, models, and the names and designations of the officers using them. The department has also been directed to immediately identify officials responsible for vehicles that remain unaccounted for.
The Information Adviser has reportedly issued notices to the relevant officials, directing them to produce all missing vehicles within 72 hours. She warned that failure to present the vehicles within the given deadline or provide satisfactory explanations could result in strict departmental and legal action against officials found responsible for negligence.
Samar Haroon Bilour has further instructed the concerned authorities to submit a comprehensive report based on verified information to her office within five days. The report is expected to include details about the vehicles, their current status and the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
According to the Information Adviser, transparency in the use of public resources and accountability are among the government's top priorities. The initiative aims to identify possible financial irregularities, address administrative negligence and ensure the proper utilisation and protection of government assets.
