MANSEHRA: The body of a young man who went missing from Khan Shakora within the limits of Battal Police Station has been recovered from a ravine near his home.
The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Sajid, son of Muhammad Maroof, a resident of Khan Shakora. His father has alleged that unidentified individuals subjected him to violence, killed him and then threw his body into a ravine after pushing him from the mountain.
According to details, Muhammad Sajid reportedly went missing from his home at around 8:00 p.m. last night. His family searched for him in the surrounding area, but when no trace of him could be found, they informed Battal Police and reported his disappearance.
The search continued, and later the young man’s body was found in a drain/ravine located near his residence.
According to a statement attributed to the deceased’s father, unidentified individuals allegedly tortured and killed Sajid before throwing him into the ravine. However, the motive behind the alleged killing and the identity of those responsible have not yet been established.
Battal Police reached the scene after receiving information about the discovery of the body and took it into custody for further legal proceedings.
Police have registered an FIR under Case No. 337 and launched an investigation into the incident. Investigators are examining different aspects of the case and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects.
Police officials said the exact cause of death and circumstances surrounding the incident would be determined through the post-mortem examination and other evidence collected during the investigation.
