MANSEHRA: In a major development in an alleged fraud case involving Rs9.8 million, the High Court has rejected the bail applications of three suspects accused of depriving 11 individuals, including Mansehra businessman Sultan, of their money on the pretext of providing jobs in government and sensitive institutions and collecting security payments.
According to details, the three accused, identified as Malik Waqas, Malik Afnan and Malik Saad, had already been arrested in connection with the alleged fraud case. They subsequently approached the High Court seeking bail and release from custody.
However, after considering the available case record and hearing the arguments, the court rejected their bail applications.
According to the allegations in the case, the suspects were involved in a scheme in which they allegedly collected money from 11 individuals, including businessman Sultan of Mansehra, promising them employment opportunities in government and sensitive institutions. The total amount allegedly collected from the victims is reported to be Rs9.8 million.
The complainants allege that the money was taken under the pretext of job placements and security deposits, but the promised employment opportunities were not provided and the amounts were not returned.
Malik Waqas is reportedly the brother of Nauman, who is alleged to be the central figure behind the group, while Malik Afnan is said to be his nephew. Malik Saad is also among the accused nominated in the case.
Meanwhile, the victims have demanded the recovery of their money and urged the relevant authorities to ensure that the accused are held accountable through due legal process.
Advocate Mehroz Jamshed Khan, representing the complainant, pursued the case and opposed the bail applications, which were subsequently rejected by the High Court.
The victims have also called for further investigation into the alleged fraud network and the recovery of the money reportedly taken from them.
