Demarcation Underway for Expansion of Karakoram Highway; Anti-Encroachment Operation Planned from Supply to Kalandarabad.

Abbottabad: The district administration of Abbottabad has stepped up preparations for the expansion of the Karakoram Highway (KKH) and the removal of encroachments along the route. On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Hamidullah Khan, Additional Assistant Commissioner Revenue Afshin Rehman inspected the ongoing demarcation process along the highway, from Supply to Kalandarabad. During the inspection, she reviewed the identification of highway boundaries, existing structures along the roadside and possible encroachments that may affect the proposed expansion project. The demarcation process is an important preparatory step ahead of the planned anti-encroachment operation, as it will help establish the official limits of the highway and identify any obstructions within the designated area. The administration aims to facilitate the highway's expansion, improve traffic flow and reduce travel difficulties for commuters. The demarcation process is currently underway, while preparations are being made for the next phase of action against encroachments along the route.
