PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Babar Nawaz Khan has strongly criticised the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), raising questions about the security situation and law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a post on the social media platform X, Babar Nawaz Khan used a sarcastic tone to target PTI leaders, writing:
Where have those ‘jackals’ gone? Sorry, sorry, I apologise — where are the leaders who had set out with their shrouds on their heads, ready to sacrifice their lives?”
His remarks appeared to be a reference to PTI leaders’ previous statements about their willingness to face challenges and make sacrifices.
Questions Over Security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In the same post, Babar Nawaz Khan raised concerns about terrorism, crime and the province’s security situation.
He wrote:
Who will protect Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from terrorists and thieves? Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal/Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir.”
The statement reflects the political debate over responsibility for maintaining law and order and tackling terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Babar Nawaz Khan’s comments have added to the political exchange between PML-N and PTI, with security and governance remaining key points of discussion in the province.
