London: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that an emergency should have been imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa earlier due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the province.
Addressing a meeting in London, Nawaz Sharif stated that the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was getting out of control and that the decision to impose an emergency should have been taken sooner. He also accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of harming the province during its 13 years in power.
Nawaz Sharif questioned how a chief minister could use government resources to launch an attack on the federal capital. He said that using provincial resources against Islamabad and other provinces was unacceptable.
The PML-N president further claimed that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been freed from PTI's government. He reaffirmed that his party remained committed to Pakistan's development and prosperity, adding that the federal and provincial governments were working to improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
