ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the welfare of overseas Pakistanis, protection of their rights and prompt resolution of their issues are among his top priorities. He expressed these views during a meeting with Syed Qamar Raza Shah, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), in Islamabad. The meeting discussed the welfare of overseas Pakistanis from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, measures to address their concerns, and ways to create new educational and employment opportunities for the province’s youth. The proposal to establish special courts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for overseas Pakistanis was also reviewed. Under the proposed system, overseas Pakistanis would be able to participate in court proceedings through online video links, with the aim of ensuring speedy and effective justice and setting a target of resolving cases within 90 days. The establishment of an internationally recognised university in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with the OPF, was also discussed. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi directed the relevant authorities to accelerate work on these proposals and take the necessary steps towards their implementation. The meeting further emphasised providing the province’s youth with technical and vocational skills aligned with international labour market requirements to improve their prospects of securing employment abroad. Participants agreed on the need for joint initiatives with the OPF to introduce training programmes based on global employment market demands. The governor said all available resources would be utilised to improve access to education, skills development and employment for the province’s youth, while institutional cooperation with the OPF would be further strengthened.
