The Lahore High Court has summoned the Punjab Home Secretary and the jail superintendent in person on October 28 during the hearing of a petition seeking the recovery of the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel informed the court that the detention orders for all three sisters had expired on October 19 and 20.
The court questioned why the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore had not been made a party to the petition. In response, the lawyer stated that the DC’s detention notification had expired, which was why the official had not been included as a respondent.
Meanwhile, Ahd Khan, the husband of Uzma Khan, requested the court to summon the DC Lahore as well.
Justice Abher Gul remarked that the DC could not be summoned because the official had not been made a party to the case.
The court subsequently directed the Punjab Home Secretary and the jail superintendent to appear in person on October 28 for further proceedings.
