PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Peshawar Zone, has arrested four Afghan nationals over their alleged involvement in fraudulently obtaining Pakistani national identity cards and passports.
According to information released about the operation, the arrests were made after the FIA received a tip-off that certain Afghan nationals were allegedly residing at Spin Ghar Hostel in Shaheen Town, Peshawar, and attempting to obtain Pakistani identity documents through agents using illegal means.
Acting on the information, a team from the FIA's Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Peshawar, conducted a raid at the identified location and arrested four suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sadiqullah, Rehmatullah, Abdullah and Nasir, all reportedly belonging to Afghanistan.
During the operation, the FIA recovered copies of Pakistani national identity cards bearing photographs of the arrested individuals. The documents were taken into official custody for further examination and investigation.
During preliminary interrogation, the suspects allegedly disclosed that they had obtained the Pakistani identity cards with the assistance of an individual identified as Talat, also known as Peer. The FIA further stated that the suspects were unable to produce Pakistani visas at the time of the operation.
Following the arrests, a case has been registered against the suspects at the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Peshawar, under FIR No. 208/2026.
The case includes Sections 419, 420, 468, 471 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), along with Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances under which the identity documents were allegedly obtained and to determine the role of the suspected agent and any other individuals who may have facilitated the process.
The FIA is continuing its investigation in accordance with the law. The allegations against the arrested individuals remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings, and their guilt can only be established by a competent court.
